Lot Description

A late Victorian silver box of oblong form, the hinged lid embossed with a garden scene and lady in traditional dress with scroll and diaper border, hallmarked Chester 1899, length measuring 3 1/4 inches (8.5 cm). Together with a silver plated box of oblong form and engraved with personal initials. (2).

The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Minor dints and bumps. Gilding to the interior of the silver example has worn, the hallmarks also worn but legible.
