Lot Description

A nineteenth century gold coloured, unmarked, vinaigrette modelled as a horse's hoof of plain hinged form, attached pendant loop and opening to reveal a lift out grille pierced and engraved in a star design. Height measuring 26 mm, width measuring 22 mm, width 17 mm and weight 7.1 grams.

The vinaigrette displays general scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing. A number of small dints and bumps visible on closer inspection. The lift out grille appears a slightly different colour and has a few sawn/pierced nicks to the rim which inserts into the base. The hinge is in good working order. No visible hallmarks.
