Lot Description

Early twentieth century silver mustard pot of plain cylindrical form, blue glass liner and domed hinged lid, hallmarks rubbed possibly Edward Barnard & Sons Ltd London 1912. Together with a Malaysian white metal cylindrical jar, marked to the underside Sabah SG. M. Gross combined weight 5.8 ozt (180 grams). (2).

Both items in the lot display general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.  Mustard pot displays various spots of tarnishing and some darker patches to the underside.  There are some deeper scratches and numerous minor nicks and some minor surface dints.  The maker's mark is partly worn and the hallmarks appear very rubbed, however the part hallmarks to reverse of lid are very clear and legible.  The underside is also impressed with retailer's name and place Yeovil.  The foot rim of the cylindrical jar displays some knocks and dints.
