An early 20th century gold opal, seed pearl and ruby brooch. Of openwork design, the circular-shape ruby and seed pearl cluster, within a circular opal cabochon surround, to the foliate border with seed pearl and ruby detail. Diameter 3cms. Weight 4.7gms.

Condition Report
Overall condition good. Light scratches in keeping with general wear and age. Rubies pinkish red . Good saturation. Minor surface abrasion. One ruby deficient. Opals with a good play of colour. Seed pearls creamy white, minor surface blemishes, crack to one. One seed pearl deficient. The US prohibits the importation of items containing rubies or jadeite originating from Burma.
