Lot Description

WWII group of five comprising 1939-1945 Star, Africa Star, Burma Star, Defence Medal and War Medal 1939-45. Together with a photographic print and letter from the Secretary of State for War confirming that Gunner R. C. Jones, Royal Artillery was mentioned in a despatch for distinguished service and published in the London Gazette on the 5th April 1945.

Condition Report

The medals appear in good overall condition, displaying general wear, ribbons frayed. The print and mounting is ripped. Letter displays sellotape marks and further marks from previous framing/mounting. No evidence to link medals, print and letter. Ribbon bar also does not appear to match the medals.
