Lot Description

A pair of enamelled satin glass vases attributed to Webb of Stourbridge. Circa 1900, each of flattened ovoid form with frosted thorn branch handles, the body shaded from apricot to salmon pink and finely enamelled in the manner of Jules Barbe with a sparrow-like bird perched upon a blossoming bough, each inscribed beneath "3. B/177", 7.25", (18.5cm) high.

Left vase: dirt to neck interior. Scattered superficial dark scratches. Small loss to base of one handle. Dirt to one enamel petal but otherwise structurally sound.

Right vase: internal flake chip to rim. One handle cracked through where nipped in. Silver-coloured mark to back of neck. Superficial scratching as before.
