Lot Description
A 19th century French porcelain cachepot or jardiniere. Rihouet, Rue de la Paix, Paris, of tapering pail form with gilt lion mask handles, the body profusely decorated with floral sprays between banded friezes, signed beneath "Rihouet", 6" internal diameter x 6.5" high, (15cm x 16.5cm).
Rihouet was appointed 'Faience Maker to the King' in 1824.

Gilt rubbing to lions and friezes. Probably had ring handles to lion masks. Star hairlines beneath base, minor internal wear, otherwise sound.
