A large 19th century Chinese porcelain vase. Of baluster form, the waisted neck applied with pairs of opposed shishi or Dogs of Fo, the body decorated to one side in underglaze blue with Buddhistic precious objects (including fan, flute, lotus, parasol, double gourd) and various diverse medallions, on a pale celadon-glazed ground, the reverse undecorated, unmarked beneath but probably early to mid 19th century, 22.75", (57.75cm) high.

Slight flaking to edges of shishi. A few minor potting flaws, and whitish pooling around much of decoration - but overall sound, and very unusual.
