A 19th century Anglo-Indian inlaid ivory work box. Of sarcophagus form, the hinged cover with octagonally-facetted end columns, the whole decorated in ivory, mother-of-pearl, coconut shell and malachite-coloured shards, enclosing a compartmentalised sandalwood interior with conforming covers, ivory sewing accessories, etc., 13.5" x 9" x 4.5" high, (34cm x 23cm x 11.5cm), with key, (AF).

Condition Report
Some areas of loss to cover, including beside one column (which has been reattached). Losses beneath hinges, and one hinge loose (cracked beneath). One side also deficient. Internally incomplete - try does not run full width (associated?), tops of compartmenst at fault (warped, losses), requires some restoration.
