A small Indian Vizagapatam carved ivory and tortoiseshell trinket box. Of rectangular form with domed cover centred by a lion cartouche, the tortoiseshell-veneered sandalwood carcase overlaid with finely pierced foliate ivory scrollwork secured with ivory rivets, on carved ivory paw feet, 4" x 2.5" x 2" high, (10.5cm x 6.5cm x 5cm).

Crack to back wall of wooden interior and crack to underside - otherwise ivory and tortoiseshell are in very good order.
