Lot Description
An late 17th/early 18th century Indian (Mughal) aftaba or ewer. Of bulbous form, the domed hinged cover with ovoid finial, the body with leaf-cast neck over a pair of 'teardrop' motifs, the whole stamped with foliate decoration, the long straight spout with medial ring knop, the zoomorphic handle with dog's head and elephants' head terminals, raised on four feet, 11", (28cm) high.

Some rubbing to top of neck from handling. Underside has a central plug, plus one foot is 'blown' beneath. Otherwise very good.
