Lot Description
A rare early Royal Doulton earthenware figure, 'The Goose Girl' HN559. Style one, pink colourway, designed by Leslie Harradine, issued 1923-1936, green printed and painted marks, 8", (20.5cm) high.
This figure was issued in six colourways as model numbers HN425, 436, 437, 448, 559 and 560. Most are categorised in the Charlton
Standard Catalogue as 'Extremely rare' or 'None known to exist'. Of the six variations, only this model is described as 'Earthenware'.

Condition Report
Left arm is cracked through wrist and bicep area - likely reattached. Loss to underside of wrist at crack. All over crazing and some yellowish discolouration consistent with earthenware body. The HN number is slightly hard to discern as the first digit has been overwritten (changed from 4 to 5 pre-production).
