Lot Description

A large rebuilt late 19th century Bohemian overlay glass vase. Of two-handled ovoid form, the body finely painted with a large panel of a couple at a fence in a woodland setting, within gilt acanthus and guilloche surround and all-over foliage between tall scroll handles on a spreading foot, 15.5", (39.5cm) high, (AF).

A large section (approx 1/3) has been reattached; crack runs through lower righ side of oval panel up to shoulder and back down to base, approx. 10-11" high x 8" wide (on curve). Has been glued back together, some tape residue. General rubbing to gilt (rim and body. Panel is impressive but some areas of rubbing/fading to left side (beside male figure).
