Lot Description

After Thomas Gainsborough, RA (1727-1788). The Mall in St James's Park. The mezzotint of young ladies promenading along a tree lined avenue, after the original of c.1783 (now in the Frick collection, New York), engraved by G S Shury, plate impression size 24" x 29.5" (61cm x 75cm), in fluted gilt frame

Slight browning to edges of margins. Small loose section to underside of lower edge of frame (left corner). Thumbnail sized hole to upper right corner of frame where fixing screw has pushed through from back
