A good quality French provincial carved cherrywood armoire. Late 18th/early 19th century, having a moulded cornice over foliate carved frieze and a pair of long doors with shaped moulded panels, carved with leaves and flowers, applied with long pierced steel escutcheons, enclosing a hanging rail, shelves and drawer, all between flower-carved quadrant columns, on profusely-carved scroll apron and cabriole legs with scroll toes, 58" x 23.5" x 96" high, (147cm x 59.5cm x 244cm).

Some inactive (treated) worm holes to central section of front. Good rich colour, has been cleaned but could be further waxed, otherwise sound and with unusual crisp carving.
