A late 19th century Ceylonese specimen wood occasional table. The octagonal top divided into twenty-four segments in six diverse specimen woods within ebony border and carved frieze with pendants, on four barley-twist supports, the square undertier with central turned ornament and wavy galleried sides raised on a stepped base with beaded and brickwork mouldings, on four facetted scroll feet, 35.5" diameter x 29.5" high, (90cm x 75cm).

Condition Report
Some old cracking to edges of top (over scrollwork), and an old split to inside of undershelf, but generally in good condition with minimal veneer flaws and no losses. Very slight undulation to top. A few joints between veneers have widened with age.
