MURRLE BENNETT & CO. - an early 20th century 15ct gold tourmaline and moonstone pendant. Of openwork design, the circular-shape pink tourmaline within an oval moonstone cabochon surround, suspending a pear-shape tourmaline drop, to the 9ct gold trace-link chain. Pendant with maker's mark for Murrle Bennett & Co. Length of pendant 4cms. Length of chain 42cms. Weight 6.1gms.

The lot is in good overall condition with scratches and small dents in keeping with general wear. The chain does not appear to be Murrle Bennett & Co. Pendant stamped 15ct. Chain stamped 9. Please see important notices for purchasers in the catalogue for Coloured Gemstones. The tourmaline are a well matched slightly purplish pink hue with slight variation in brightness and saturation. Typical inclusions. Moderate abrasion to facet edges. The moonstone appear well matched with moderate adularescence. One has a very small natural surface cavity.
