Lot Description
LOUIS WIESE - a late 19th century 18ct gold pendant. Of openwork design, the scrolling pendant with foliate detail and central grotesque, suspended from a fancy-link chain with quatrefoil spacers and toggle clasp. Maker's marks for Wiese. Diameter of pendant 3.5cms. Length of chain 47.5cms. Weight 46.9gms. With maker's case.

Condition Report
The lot is in good overall condition with scratches and small dents in keeping with general wear. There is some pitting to the reverse. Maker's mark to pendant and claps. There are some fine marks in keeping with the casting method of manufacture. There are small traces of black enamel to the quatrefoil within the pendant. The quatrefoil to the chain are also recessed slightly. The loop for the toggle clasp is slightly out of round and shows a partially struck maker's mark for Louis Wiese. The case shows wear with slight loss to the red interior and gilt lettering. The outside of the case shows wear and small scuffs with a gilt script monogram. The case does not snap shut securely.
