Lot Description
A selection of star sapphires and sapphires, to include an oval star sapphire cabochon weighing 4.60cts, together with a selection of vari-cut sapphires weighing 45.08cts. Total weight 52.95cts.

Condition Report
There are too many stones in this lot to provide a full condition report. The 4.60ct star sapphire shows a faint star in natural light, with fine diffuse bands visible on movement of the stone, one band is easier to see than the other two. Under a daylight lamp the star is slightly clearer with wider diffuse bands. Star sapphire is light blue, slightly uneven colour distribution, with typical inclusions to include colour zoning. The back of the cabochon is uneven. Front of the cabochon is in good condition with minor abrasion, the back has abrasion and small chips to the surface. Length of cabochon 10.4mms.
