Lot 333

Lot Description

A diamond brooch. Of marquise-shape outline, the graduated old-cut diamonds, each within a collet setting, to the old and rose-cut diamond openwork panel. Estimated total old-cut diamond weight 1.80cts. Length 7.9cms. Weight 11gms.

Postage: Auction Default

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

Overall condition good. Minor surface wear in keeping with general wear. The reverse of the brooch is heavily discoloured, with pinkish-red to blue colouration across different areas. Diamonds bright and well matched. Individual size and setting prevents accurate colour/clarity assessment. Generally minor inclusions visible under magnification. Diamonds generally in good condition with minor abrasion, some have nibbles to the girdle and some facet edges. Principal diamond has no obvious inclusions, but has a large nibble to the girdle, assessed within the confines of the setting. Rose-cut diamonds excluded from the estimated total diamond weight, due to the nature of the rose-cut it is not possible to calculate a diamond weight. Brooch fitting in good working order.
