Lot Description
A Dutch style continental metal key wind pair case pocket watch by Thomas Miller, the silvered champlevé dial with hourly applied Roman numerals alternating with copper tone dot markers, engraved decoration to the centre depicting a mythical scene, numbered J660 but unsigned, date aperture positioned to six o'clock, all surrounded by Arabic timing divisions, plain unsigned outer case, the inner with possibly spurious hallmarks for London 1764, indeterminable maker's mark, fitted with a signed full plate fusee and chain movement with tangent-screw set-up, verge escapement and pierced balance bridge. Outer case diameter 50mm.

A silver key wind pair case pocket watch, movement is currently functioning, date changes closer to six am rather than at midnight, dial shows discolouration and uneven texture, date wheel has an even texture, hands show discolouration and marks, hands are slightly loose, glass is lightly scratched and marked from use, case has medium scratched from use, inner case has noticeable dents and uneven texture, hinge to inner case functions, bow and pendant are scratched and damaged, outer case is heavily damaged with noticeable dents and a repair visible to the case back, hinge appears to function to the outer case.
