Lot 265

Lot Description

A pair of Japanese Meiji period bronze figures. Each modelled as a spear-fisherman with wicker creel, their cloaks decorated with shell motifs, one with an eel coiled around his leg, 7", (18cm) high excluding spear, on associated hardwood stands.

Postage: Auction Default

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

Spears both at fault - one bent, the other snapped and reduced. Otherwise both good with good patination. Each figure has square holes beneath feet to fit onto a base - the associated hardwood bases (probably from ivory okimono) have been plugged to support the figures.
