A French gilt metal mantel clock. Late 19th century, the 3.25-inch Roman dial with Breguet hands, two-train outside countwheel-striking movement stamped Samuel Marti & Cie, the case with a seated Muse of Literature beside drum-head housing on tiled platform and spreading scroll base, 16.5" wide x 10" high, (42cm x 25cm).
