A dated Charles II oak coffer. The hinged three-panel top with moulded frame over scroll-carved frieze with initial IB or JB and dated 1684, enclosing a lidded candle-box, the front having three well-carved panels with interlacing and foliage, the moulded end stiles extending as legs, 55" x 22" x 29" high, (140cm x 56xm x 74cm).
