Lot Description
BENZIE OF COWES - a pair of early 20th century 18ct gold Royal presentation nautical cufflinks. Of oval-shape outline, each designed as a pair of reverse carved crystal intaglios, painted to depict the racing flag of the Royal Yacht Britannia, connected by a figure-of-eight. Signed Benzie Cowes. Length of cufflink face 1.7cms. Weight 15.1gms. With maker's case.

Condition Report
Overall condition fair to good. Minor surface wear and light scratches in keeping with age. Reverse carved intaglios in fair to good condition, three with minor abrasion and scratches, one with a fracture to the back of the intaglio, now protected by the mount. The blue paint has come away in small areas, with a whitish appearance. Stamped 18ct. The case interior has a small patch of purple staining and is worn in one corner. Damage to the outer case, the blue surface has been removed.
