Lot Description
A late 19th century silver and 9ct gold diamond necklace. Designed as a series of graduated old-cut diamond clusters, interspaced with old-cut diamonds, to the partially concealed clasp. Estimated total diamond weight 16 - 18cts, I-tinted colour, SI1-P1 clarity. Length 37cms. Weight 30.7gms. With fitted case.

Condition Report
Overall condition fair to good. Some surface wear and tarnishing in keeping with age. Necklace has been subsequently rhodium plated. Central cluster has a hook fitting to the reverse, possibly later added, visible from the front. Hook fitting may have suspended a further pendant, now deficient. Settings/clusters are delicate and may need attention. Diamonds bright, differ slightly in size, shape, colour and clarity. Some with minor to scattered inclusions visible under magnification, others with large and surface reaching inclusions. Diamonds vary in condition, some in good condition with minor abrasion, others with significant nibbles and some chips. Clasp in good working order.
