Lot Description
Two late Victorian 15ct gold bar brooches, circa 1900. The first designed as an old-cut diamond, with a split pearl crescent surround, to the filigree curved bar, the second designed as a ruby and diamond trefoil, to the floral bar. One with hallmarks for Chester, 1898. Lengths 4.7 to 4.1cms. Weight 6.1gms.

Condition Report
Overall condition good. There are scratches to the brooches in keeping with overall wear. There are some areas of dark discolouration to the back of the crescent brooch, the hallmark is clear, the maker's mark is quite worn. The diamond is bright and the split pearls are well matched. Estimated diamond weight 0.05ct, individual size and/or setting prevents accurate colour/clarity assessment.
There are some dents to the floral detail of the other brooch, there are some areas of abrasion to the ruby visible with magnification, the diamonds are bright. There are dents and a back file mark to the one terminal. The back pin is loose. Please see the Important Notices for Purchasers in our catalogue for coloured gemstones.
