Lot Description
A mid 19th century gold coral cameo necklace. Designed as a graduated series of fifteen coral cameos, each carved as a figure in three-quarter profile within a cannetille surround, to the cannetille spacers and similarly designed clasp. Length 47cms. Weight 33.7gms. With associated Garrard & Co Ltd case.

Condition Report
The lot is in good overall condition with light scratches in keeping with general wear. Minor discolouration. Very minor small dents and very slight losses to cannetille detail. Please see important notices for purchasers in the catalogue for Coloured Gemstones. Coral untested for natural colour origin. The coral is a deep, slightly pinkish orange hue, very slightly mottled, with slight growth patterns and some polyp holes. One of the cameos has a large polyp hole to the reverse which shows as a very small hole to the front of the cameo. The case shows wear and sellotape to the front, the case does not close securely.
