A nineteenth century pair of steel scissor action candle snuffers, with scrolled stems leading to oval ring handles, the chamber with engraved foliate scroll border. Length measures 6 7/8 inches (17.5 cm).

Condition Report
The snuffers display general surface scratches, marks and wear commensurate with the age and use. They are also quite tarnished and rust is also visible. The chamber has a gold coloured decorated inset panel, and there is some wear and deterioration in this area. The scissor action is in working order. As an amendment to the condition report, the circular fixing part holding the two sections together is likely to be a later addition.
