The item displays general surface scratches, marks and wear commensurate with the age and use. Some light tarnishing to the silver mounts. Hinged covers are in working order, although one is a little looser than the other. Maker's marks are partly distorted, other hallmarks are rubbed but still legible. The glass displays one fairly large chip to one corner edge and several other smaller edge nicks and chips. Some deeper scratches and contact marks to the underside.
