Lot Description

A 1950's silver mounted cigarette case of oblong form, engine turned lid with vacant cartouche, opening to reveal a silver-gilt interior with wooden lining, hallmarked Harman Brothers, Birmingham 1958, length measuring 6 1/2 inches (16.5 cm). Together with a second silver mounted cigarette box of smaller plain oblong form, hallmarked Sanders & Mackenzie (Ernest Wilfred Sanders & Henry Arthur Mackenzie), Birmingham 1969, length measuring 5 1/8 inches (13 cm). (2).

In good overall condition. The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.

The lid of on the first example rises from the flush closed position. Hallmarks to the second example are very worn.
