Lot Description
A Victorian silver plated four piece tea service by Elkington & Co comprising teapot, spirit kettle, milk and sugar, each piece of oval form with monogram, foliate engraving and beaded rims. Elkington & Co plated marks for 1872 and numbered 8023.

Condition Report
The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The lid to the teapot does not quite sit flush, handle a little loose, pins loose and the finial is loose and likely to be a replacement. The handle to the spirit kettle is also a little loose with the pins and ivory insulators loose. Ivory finial chipped and with hairline fractures. The base of the spirit kettle has deteriorated from the direct heat from the burner, distorting the plated marks in this area.
