Lot 39

Lot Description

A George III silver open salt of cauldron form raised on three hoof feet, hallmarked London 1765. Together with a pair of 1940's silver pierced napkin rings, hallmarked Lanson Ltd, Birmingham 1943. Gross weight 3.4 ozt (106 grams). (2).

Postage: Auction Default

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

All three items display general surface scratches, marks and wear commensurate with the age and use.  Heavy tarnishing is visible, especially to the pair of napkin rings but also spots and patches of tarnishing to the interior of the open salt.  All would benefit from a clean and polish.  Some surface dints and bumps are visible to the salt.  The hallmarks to the underside are quite rubbed and distorted.  Hallmarks to the napkin rings are clear and legible.
