Lot Description

A Victorian large silver presentation trowel with inscription relating to The Birmingham Free Industrial School, Gem street, mask and scroll mount to the carved tapering hexagonal handle. Hallmarked Henry Wilkinson & Co, Sheffield 1847. Length measuring 12 1/2 inches (32 cm).

The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Remnants of old polish to the recesses. The tip of the trowel is dented/creased. The hallmarks appear rubbed but legible. Discolouration to the ivory.
