Lot 504

Lot Description

A Victorian silver scent bottle of cylindrical form entirely decorated with foliate scrolls, monogrammed hinged lid opening to reveal a silver-gilt interior with glass stopper. Hallmarked Sampson Mordan, London 1887. Height measuring 5.5 cm.

Postage: Auction Default

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

The scent bottle displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.  Some slight loss of surface detail, however the decoration is still fairly bright.  Remnants of polish are visible.  Hinge and clasp are in working order.  The glass stopper appears jammed in position.  Slight rubbing, however hallmarks to the underside are still clear and legible.
