Lot Description

A late Victorian silver vesta case of plain oblong form, engraved 'EDUNKU 23:1:96' above a scene of a horse and rider, hallmarked Birmingham 1895. Together with an early twentieth century silver vesta case with scroll engraved decoration and initialled cartouche, hallmarked Birmingham 1912. (2).

Both display general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.  Deeper scratches and nicks are visible to both, also some small surface dints and bumps.  Slight loss of detail to engraved decoration.  Remnants of polish visible to both.  Hinges are in working order.  Some rubbing and slight distortion to hallmarks but they are still legible.
