Lot Description
An Edwardian silver mounted vinegar bottle with bell shaped glass body and plain, lipped lid, hallmarked Hukin & Heath (John Thomas Heath & John Hartshorne Middleton), Birmingham 1909. Together with a pair of Victorian silver mounted scent bottles, hallmarked Arthur Willmore Pennington, Birmingham 1897, a gravy boat with three paw feet, hallmarked Viner’s, Sheffield 1934, a silver pepper with filled based, hallmarked AJ Pepper & Co, Birmingham 1919, Georgian and later silver teaspoons and an Edwardian silver mounted tot cup. Condition Report
The lot is in a varied condition. The vinegar is in good condition with only minor wear marks to the inside of the lid, the hallmarks are very clear. There are cracks to the scalloped edged of the gravy boat and the maker’s mark is rubbed. The pepper is dented and marked. Both scent bottles have large holes in the lids and small chips to the glass bodies. The spoons are in a varied condition. All items show tarnishing and minor scratches consistent with age and use.
