A late Victorian silver mounted tortoiseshell necessaire, of tapering form with hinged cover enclosing two pairs of scissors, one hallmarked to the handle Birmingham 1893, in fitted blue plush interior, the case with mounts hallmarked Birmingham 1892 E S Barnsley and Co (over struck). 6 1/2" (16.5cm) high.
