A good Japanese Meiji period ivory okimono of a monkey trainer. Modelled in standing pose with a small child beside him, the trainer holding a hoop aloft for the monkey to jump through, the animal standing upon the trainer's head, red seal mark to base, 7.7", (19.5cm) high.

Old crack running from right shoulder to hem of jacket. Small hole to centre of base above where seal mark is to underside - possibility that a small item would have pegged in at the figure's feet. Otherwise good.
