An early 18th century-style 'red walnut' bracket clock. The 5.75-inch square brass dial having a silvered chapter ring with Roman hours and Arabic minutes framing a matted centre, within putto spandrels, bears engraved signature beneath VI "T. Mudge", the high quality chain-driven twin-fusee movement with cylinder escapement, engraved backplate, bell-striking, the traditional case with cast brass carry handle, shallow caddy top and moulded cornice over glazed sides, moulded base and flattened bun feet, 12.25", (31cm) high excluding handle.
