A good 19th century French porcelain mantel clock.
Japy Freres/Gay Vicarino, Paris
The 4-inch cellular Roman chapter ring framing a painted panel of Cupid, the two-train bell-striking movement with Japy Freres exhibition stamp, oval stamp of Gay Vicarino, and number 22638, the break-arched case surmonted by an urn finial (socle A/F) with ram's head loop handles, over berry corner finials the body finely painted with a Sevres-style panel of a courting couple in a garden, between 'jewelled' columns and cast ormolu foliate scrolls, the breakfront base inset with further conforming floral panels on a cast apron and toupie side feet, 20", (51cm) high.
