An imposing late 19th century mahogany triple-fusee bracket clock. The 7-inch arched brass dial with silvered chapter ring having Roman hours and Arabic minutes framing a matted centre, beneath three silvered subsidiary dials for Chime/Silent, Slow/Fast and Chime on Eight Bells/Westminster Chimes respectively, the substantial unmarked movement with nine-bell carillon (one for hour striking) and five coiled gongs (one for hour striking), activated via two pin-barrels, the high quality case with pineapple finials over break-arched surmount, the arch-glazed door between canted terms, the sides with brass handles over gilt metal frets on foliage-backed paw feet, 25", (63.5cm) high.
