An early 19th century mahogany-cased 8-day painted dial longcase clock
C. Gowland, Sunderland, the 13-inch break-arched Roman dial with subsidiary seconds and calendar dials, within floral spandrels, signed to the lower border, the arch painted with an oval panel depicting a lady in a landscape, within floral swags, the movement, with false-plate stamped B WRIGHT & Co., rack-striking on a bell, the case with arched surmount and dentil frieze over fluted Corinthian columns, the trunk with conforming quadrants flanking a yoke-topped figured long door, on plain base and moulded apron, 96", (244cm) high.

Dial crazing and scratching.
Shallow packing beneath seatboard and arch of dial is trimmed by arch of hood, therefore assumed marriage of dial and movement.
No finials to hood, minor scratching to trunk door, no feet.
