A good Edwardian inlaid mahogany dwarf longcase clock and pedestal. The 6-inch break-arched brass dial with silvered Roman chapter ring beneath subsidiary Slow/Fast ring, the two-train movement with offset anchor escapement, ting-tang striking on two coiled gongs, the backplate stamped GV (possibly for Gay Vicarino) and numbered 3356, with brass invar-type pendulum, the high quality break-arched case with flambeau finials and open accolade surmount over floral swag-inlaid hood door between Corinthian columns, the long trunk door inlaid with cornucopiae, urn, swags and ribbons beneath bat's wing spandrels, on a conforming base and cast scroll-backed paw feet to the front, 47", (119cm) high, raised upon an inlaid pedestal, overall height 65", (165cm)
