A 19th century lady's black lacquered work/sewing table, the hinged top opening to reveal a compartmented and fitted interior, the whole with applied gilt chinoiserie decoration, the underside of the hinged lid with inscription 'J C to JD', flanked by painted figures of mandarins, the twin pillar turned stand terminating in carved lion paw feet, 28.75" (73cm) high, 25.5" (65cm) wide

Stretcher to base broken, the whole is heavily worn with heavy losses to gilding. Interior has damage and is incomplete.
