Denmark, The King's Emblem Pin, a silver and red enamel badge on suspension chain and pin, displaying the Danish flag with the Royal cypher for King Christian X (1870-1947) to the centre, with the dates 1870-1940 below, the rectangular form surmounted with a crown. Maker George Jensen, stamped 925 to reverse. Maximum height measuring approximately 3 cm.
The King's Emblem Pin (Kongemerket) was designed in 1940 to commemorate King Christian X's 70th birthday. The wearing of such a pin became a popular way for the Danes to display patriotism and silent resistance to the German occupation during World War II.
