Lot Description

A late 19th century 18ct gold opal and diamond ring. The graduated oval opal cabochons, interspaced by old-cut diamonds, to the scrolling gallery and plain band. Estimated total diamond weight 0.20ct. Weight 3.5gms.

Overall condition good. Minor surface wear in keeping with general wear. Tbe opals are lightly abraded. One of the outer opals is a replacement. The opals present blue, green, yellow and orange play-of-colour. The diamonds are bright, lively and well matched. Light nicks and chips can be seen to some. Fine feathers and fractures can be seen under magnification. Individual size and setting prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment. Stamped 18ct. Ring size L.
