Lot Description
An early 20th century continental platinum and 9ct gold diamond and ruby vintage car brooch. The rose-cut diamond seats, with vari-cut ruby inner detail and trim, to the rose cut diamond car, with similarly-cut diamond rotating wheels. Length 3.8cms. Weight 15.8gms.

Condition Report
Overall condition good. Three diamonds deficient. There are scratches to the brooch in keeping with overall wear. There is an areas of lead solder repair to the seat. Stamped Depose. The rubies are a pinkish red with an even saturation of colour, there are typical inclusions, some visible with the unaided eye, there is slight abrasion to some of the facet edges. The rose-cut diamonds are bright, there is one single-cut diamond replacement. Several of the diamonds have small chips and areas of abrasion visible with magnification, individual size and/or setting prevents accurate colour/clarity assessment. The wheels have good movement. The back pin and catch is secure. Some settings appear quite worn and may need to be secured. Please see the Important Notices for Purchasers in our catalogue for coloured gemstones.
