Lot Description
A late 18th century gilt key wind open face repoussé pocket watch by John Higginson, London, the white enamel dial with black Roman numeral hour markers surrounded by an outer minute track, the circular shaped case, maker's mark WR, with classical scene of a nude lady in repose to the rear, fitted with a signed frosted gilt full plate fusee and chain movement with verge escapement, pierced balance cock and diamond end stone. Case diameter 54mm.

John Higginson pocket watch, the movement is currently functioning, signs of previous intervention, hands are tarnished, and the minute hand is deformed, it may be a replacement, dial is chipped to the top and loose, it may be a replacement, there are obvious signs of repair work to the movement hinge, the case may be a replacement, the case is rubbed, particularly to the raised image of the lady, again repair work is visible to the inside of the case back to the figure and the inside case back.
