Lot Description
A George III silver key wind repoussé pair case pocket watch by Robert Dolphin, London, the white dial with hourly applied black Roman numerals, surrounded by a minute track with Arabic divisions at five minute intervals, circular shaped case decorated with a classical scene, hallmarked London 1817, fitted with a signed full plate fusee and plate movement with verge escapement and pierced balance cock. Outer case diameter 49mm.

Robert Dolphin pair case pocket watch, verge fusee movement signed Robert Dolphin, movement is not functioning, fusee chain not attached to spring barrel - fusee hook broken, movement screws show signs of wear, balance appears to swing freely, dial marked with numerous hairline cracks and scratches, hands appear slightly discoloured, hinge seems good, glass has aged and marked with fine scratches which may polish out, inner case is tarnished and marked with scuffs and scratches consistent with general wear, outer case is tarnished, repousse work heavily worn due to age, outer case hinge and catch appear in good condition, bow tarnished and showing signs of wear.
